Happy Happy Happy Birthday!
It's my mom's 50th birthday today!
Happy, happy, happy birthday, mother dearest!
Luv yah! *mwah!*

Unfortunately, she's in China today and will be gone for the rest of the week (next week), so we're gonna hold her 50th birthday bash at the Crowne Plaza when she comes home.

I don't get it. I just don't. What is it with guys and friendster testimonials? 3 or 4 of my guy buddies YM-ed me, asking me to make them testimonials and promising that they'd make me one, too after I make them one (careerin ko daw). And after I "career-ed" my testimonials for them, they say "Thanks" and never bother making me one back. Okay. And then I ask them for their testis for me and then they say that they'll make it later on, but they never do. What's up with that? It's kinda funny to notice a certain trend with these guys...it's like they come from the same mold even though they're from different origins. haha :P I don't really know whether to feel annoyed or amused. I guess guys will be guys, and they're all from the same mold--with a few exceptions, of course. ^^

Someone I'll Never Forget...
Mrs. Dayao was my Third Year History teacher. I remember her for her frankness and strong principles in life. She taught me so much about life and about sticking to my own principles even though people would try to bring me down. I guess I could relate to her ideals because in a sense, just like her, I'm sort of idealistic...all pent up on trying to find ways to make the world a better place.

Last night, she posted a message in the Friendster bulletin board. Here's what she said:

"I read the testimonials sent to me by my students from ICA and it dawned on me that i never got to
say thank you to most if not all of you. It is now that i take the chance to say thank you. I want you to know that in my hour of need and during moments of sadness and confusion, your testimonials do wonders to my soul. It revives my spirit and helps me to continuously believe in the innate  goodness of man. I know that most of you are grown ups now or more mature than when i first met you. But you will always remind me of how carefree the youth can be. Hold on to your childlike qualities. When i was young i wanted to grow old sooner only to find myself happiest when i was at your age. So please enjoy your youth. Celebrate life each day at a time. Do not force yourself to grow old too soon and too fast. You cannot bring back time so live each day to the fullest. Aspire for greatness and find the motivation you need to find who you are. Dont let anyone tell you who you have to be...find out for yourself. Let true friends influence you but always think for yourself. You dont have to be perfect now, youll get there...discover who you are and then be the best you want to be. It seems cliche to say all these, especially since i was your teacher, but for most of you who know me i guess you can remember how i say things i truly believe in. I trusted you when you were in my class...so how can you not trust yourself. Make the step...its time."

Words of wisdom from a very great teacher.
Mrs. Dayao, I will never forget you.

A Post Too Late. A Dance Away.
Yesterday, I made a new friend. Hello Esgue! :D He's from BS Mgt and is Uana's friend from Ateneo High. We bonded in the SEC Walk area whilst waiting for our random numbers to be called and our friends to arrive. He's a funny guy. I actually noticed that we shared a lot of things in common--like the fact that Lulu was also his teacher in Merit English and that we were both shoe-less for about 30 minutes (Esgue, I like your lady sandals. hehehe) because our English blockmates borrowed our shoes since they couldn't register if they didn't follow the SOM dress code. haha^^ See you around, Esgue! It was nice chatting with you!

Blockmates, here is my final schedule for the second sem. Please check it out instead of constantly asking me what my schedule is. Thanks. :D

M-W-F
0830-0930: Filipino (sadness...our block's split up into FOUR sections) - CTC204
0930-1030: "Merit" English (Ingga, good luck sa atin sa expository writing) - B305
1030-1130: Poetry Literature (Yay!) - B305
1330-1430: Calculus (At least our block's almost complete--almost. :c) - SECA204A

T-Th
0730-0900: Calculus (6 units. I can do this.) - CTC305
0930-1130: Botany Lab (Ah, yes. Plants and drawing. No lab reports like ES!!!) - SECB105A (T only)
1200-1330: Botany Lec (It's like ES all over again) - SECA116A
1400-1500: Modern Jazz (Gotta learn so I can teach Gab ^^) - Dance Area

Yes, I'll be dancing my way through PE. Apparently, the slots for PE101 Q were already filled up when I registered. I think the Big Guy up there doesn't want me to take PE101 for the second sem. Ralf told me that Running was gonna be sort of a hassle, so I settled for Modern Jazz instead. Anyone wanna take PE101 with me during the summer? :-\

P.S. I just realized that MM's the only one in my block whom I don't have a class with. Boo.

***

I got Botany for my NatSci. I told you that I would. It sounds like I'm gonna attend Professor Sprout's class just like in Harry Potter. haha ^^ Can't wait to watch that film (HP4)

In the caf at 12nn
Me to blockmates: Meron ba sa inyo nagbotany?
(Blockmates look at each other)
Blockmates: No...I got Physics. I got Chem. I got ES. ES. Physics. ES. Chem.
Me: Do you guys know anyone who took up Botany????
Blockmates: Er..no.

After that I was like, "YAAAAAAAHHHH!!!" I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN MY BLOCK TAKING UP BOTANY!!!
I was kinda sad since I wasn't going to be with my blockmates and that I would be a loner on the first day of NatSci (I'm an introvert. I don't easily mingle with people so I don't make new friends easily), but then Patty Mangahas texted me, telling me that she and Ces got Botany. Yayish passed by the caf and told me that she got Botany. Raffy and Candice passed by SEC and told me they were also taking up Botany. Nix told me he was taking up Botany. Thank goodness for ES classmates! haha ^^ Later on that day, Charles texted me and told me that Nats took Botany. Kamae texted me to tell me that she also got Botany.

At the end of the day, I was happy. I wasn't going to be the only one in my block taking Botany (hello Nats and Kamae!), and my ES buddies (Hello Nix, Candice, Raffy, Patty, Yayish, Ces) were going to be my classmates, too! Yay! Yay! Yay! Hope our Botany class would turn out to be fun :D

I dunno whether I should feel happy or sad...
Weee...SPURS won against the Bulls 104-95 OT.
Uana asked me to join her in PE 101 (guys, section Q T-Th 2-3pm). I'm still thinking whether I should take it cos for sure we'll be given a lot of reading material for English and Lit class...
Maika invited me to take running.
PE 107 R RUNNING 2 1500 1600 T-TH COV COURTS DE LA CRUZ, LEMMUEL DOMINGO S.
What'll I choose?

***

Registration's tomorrow and I still don't know which NatSci to take.

Physics: Macabebe's the teacher. She's no Kendra but her class is A-able. Physics is the easiest next to ES so I'm guessing this'll be filled up quickly.
Chemistry: Urgh. Too many chemical formulas, compounds, etc to memorize. Not too sure with the teacher either.
Botany: It's the closest thing to ES, which is good--I think.
Zoology: Killer workload, reading material and horrid lab (those poor animals...). Yech.

Therefore, it's a toss between Physics and Botany. But looking at my random number, I'm guessing that I'll be settling for Botany instead. *sigh* I hope my classmates turn out to be okay...so far I don't know anyone who's taking up Botany for the second sem... =(

Anyone care to join me in Botany? :((

Cheers to the fruits of your labor.
Received our grades today. My grades were a LOT higher than my advisory marks, and I was overjoyed to find out that my Math grade was a LOT higher than the F i got as an advisory grade for Math during the first sem.

Thank you Lord...
Thank you Queena Lee-Chua...
Thank you Nix...
Thank you Moco...

Thank you guys for bearing with my "stupid-ness/slow-ness" in Math. Thank you for your patience, your time, your effort...thank you for everything. :D You guys RAWK! Luv yah all! >:D<

Looking at my schedule for the second sem, I realized that I have to take my studies more seriously for the succeeding sems. That would mean less hanging out in the caf and complabs and more time in the library. After all, the Rizal Library IS supposed to be every Atenean's best friend. Gah. And we have Calculus every day. My schedule sure is a loaded one...

(I had typed a longer post but then I lost it after getting disconnected from the server. rar. And now I'm too lazy to blog...)

We need to talk.
Yep, grades are out tomorrow, and on Wednesday, we're gonna have our registration for the second semester.

Abby says that for the second sem, we're gonna be having math everyday. Boo hoo...let me cry in peace. I've never loved math. *sigh* Why can't I be good in math?!

Anyway, since regweek is coming up, I've been making some pros and cons on the various NatSci and PE classes to choose from. Let's start off with NatSci.

Natural Science classes:

1. Environmental Science --> chicken feet course. Unfortunately, I didn't take the course seriously. I know I could've done better, but I didn't. Oh, well. Anyway, I took this subject during the first sem so it's not one of my current options for NatSci this second sem.

2. Physics
->PROS: They say that next to ES, Physics is the easiest one. Macabebe's class is A-able as long as "bolahin mo lang siya" (accdng to dkuy:D).
->CONS: Math equations involved (urgh. you know how much I hate math), not to mention the fact that given my random number and the preference of the students to this course, there might not be any slots available by the time I register. Macabebe's the teacher--not Kendra =(

3. Chemistry
->PROS: I love Chem Lab back in third year HS (hello Ms. Antonio!) with all the exploding stuff and pretty colors and flames. ^^ You get to make Ice Cream, too for Chem Lab. Yum!
->CONS: I'm not a huge fan of memorizing C-H-O compound formula thingamagiggees. There's just too many formulas to memorize. People also wanna get this course subject, so I dunno if there's gonna be slots left. De Leoz is the teacher.

4. Botany
->PROS: It's kinda like ES--only more difficult (hey, is this a pro??). It's the easier Biology subject. Not much people will take it probably since they've all taken the ES, Physics and Chem slots. There's also LOTS of drawing involved. Weee...
->CONS: It's all about plants.

5. Zoology
->PROS: Kei and Charles will surely be in there.
->CONS: I hate dissecting animals. I pity them. I pity the poor duck Guido had to kill. I'm deathly afraid of blood and dissecting. This is also the hardest NatSci course, primarily because apart from the fact that there's a lot of reading involved, the professor's such a HUGE genius that he gives hard tests because he has high expectations for his students. There's also a lot of reading material, which I can't afford to have considering the reading workload my En and Lit teachers are giving me.

THE VERDICT: Anything but Zoology.
Oist Nix and MM!!! Same NatSci pa ba tayo??? Mukhang malabo eh. Come what may nalang...basta ganyan yung order of preference ko. Tingnan ko kung may slot ung iba...

PE Classes

1. Badminton
->PROS: I LOVE the adrenaline rush of the game. I like running around and playing this highly active sport. It reminds me of high school when I used to compete with my friends, 2 against 1 (and I RAWKED..haha:D)
->CONS: Where's this gonna be held? I don't wanna play under the heat of the sun!!! :o

2. Modern Jazz
->PROS: Dancing, shaded venue, electric fans everywhere, fun!
->CONS: Er...it's an all-girls club? (Is this a con?)

3. Arnis
->PROS: Martial Arts! Woohoo! Nuff said.
->CONS: Do I seriously like the idea of someone pounding me with a stick? Oh, and we need to have uniforms for Arnis...

4. Lecture
->PROS: I'll finally be done with this required course for AdMU students.
->CONS: Too much tests and stuff to read--it'll add to my reading burden from NatSci and English.

5. Running
->PROS: I LOVE running, especially in marathons. Running's also good for the heart ^u^
->CONS: Er..running equates to tiring?

6. Tennis
->PROS: Bea Pob's in there. Ingga's gonna lend me her racket.
->CONS: I have never ever played tennis in my entire life.

7. Judo
->PROS: Martial Arts! Woohoo!
->CONS: I may endanger someone's life, or worse, injure myself.

VERDICT:
I wish I could re-take Taekwondo. Taekwondo class was fun! Kev, Hilla, Margie, Pat, and the rest...I miss you guys! What're your PE's for the second sem?

New layout!
Er..yeah. I changed my layout again. Czari helped me with some ideas on the layout scheme.
It does look NEATER, doesn't it? And it's no longer blue. I'm staying away from the color blue for now. I think I got color-blinded by the bluish-ness of my last blog layout. To be honest, I got dizzy with my last blog layout. ^u^

Took this Rate My Life meme. Apparently, I have a lot of soul in me. My Spirit rating is higher than the average person, so they asked if I could share some thoughts/advice on how I manage to keep that aspect of life really high. haha :D But my love life sucks. Oh, well. My life needs to be balanced, right? XD And it doesn't really matter if I don't have an active love life at the moment. My good friends make up for a lousy love life. haha In short, they're so awesome and fun to hang out with that they don't make me think about my lack of a love life. haha ^^

Whether you were a drama freak or an emo poet, you definitely were expressive and unique. You're probably a little less weird these days - but even more talented!

It's quite true. Back in high school, I did a lot of acting in plays, I was head of our inter-class art competitions, and I did write poetry during Chinese class. ^^ 'Til now, I'm still artsy...

NBA Season
Weee...I am SO looking forward to this year's NBA season. Last season was predictable (I kept telling Toby how the Spurs would win the championships but he didn't believe me). Hopefully, this year will be a blast, too! I really wish to see my two fave teams (SA Spurs and MI Heat) competing for the championship. Pardon my French, but SA seriously kicked Detroit's butt last season (harhar @ Mong and Bobby) and I'm hoping that they'd do the same thing for Miami (I love both teams but I'm more of a Spurs fan ^^) this season. haha :D I watched yesterday's SA match with the Nuggets, and the game seemed like a no-brainer--SA was gonna win. Tony Parker has definitely improved from last season--probably since he had a shooting coach or something. Nevertheless, the Spurs have proven in their last game that they are definitely NOT a team to mess around with, but then again, anything can happen. After all, it's only the start of the playoffs (premiere week). Whatever happens, I'll be rooting for SA all the way (hey, I rhyme! :P)!

photo

Tony Parker doing his thing in the bball court. It was HIS game that night! ^^

P.S. Gelo, por que isa akong babaeng nanonood ng NBA at wala akong crush dun does not necessarily mean that I'm a tomboy. Is it a crime to love the adrenaline rush of the game?

Staring out at the rain with a heavy heart
It's the end of the world in my mind
Then your voice calls me back like a wake up call
I've been looking for the answer
Somewhere
I couldn't see that it was right there
But now I know what I really know

Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky

It's alright, I survived, I'm alive again
Cuz of you, made it though every storm

What is life, what's the use if you're killed inside
I'm so glad I found an angel
Someone
Who was there when all my hopes fell
I wanna fly, looking in your eyes

Because you live there's a reason why
I carry on when I lose the fight
I want to give what you've given me always

Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has everything I need to survive

Because you live, I live, I live

Don't worry...it'll grow back...
I had my hair cut over the weekend. I wanted my hair to be shoulder-length, but the person in the hair salon wanted to style my hair and "over-cut" it. Now my hair's short (ehrm..4-5 inches was chopped off) and it's short and it's short. The only consolation I have (I think) is that it's still curly. Damn. I wanted shoulder-length hair, not short hair. Now my hair looks like a dog knawed the ends or something...Boo.

Hopefully, it'll grow back in two weeks...

Went on a 12-hour shopping adventure at Rustan's Makati, Glorietta, Robinson's, and at the supermarket with my family last Sunday. Imagine all the stuff we bought for people this Christmas!

I'm not yet done with my Christmas shopping...
